I believe many people nowadays are in a long distance relationship ( LDR ) and all these are the direct contribution of the invention of aeroplane and internet. Before the popularity of internet dating, lovers used to communicate a lot using telephone and they would talk for ages or corresponded via mails. Now, with the advent of the internet, LDR has exploded in popularity because it is now easier to be sustained. But what are the disadvantages and advantages to be in a LDR?
Trust is very important in maintaining a relationship but how many couples succeeded in establishing it? Mine did not survive and it lasted for 6 years before everything fell apart because trust was just not there and it just happened. Compromising on a commitment is important and holding on to the promises matters a lot too. I take my relationship seriously and I hoped my 'man' appreciate me.
On the other hand, distance is not the end of the end of the world in a relationship. Both parties have to work hard to make LDR work. It's hard enough to keep a relatively close distance relationship work , never mind a long one.It is an understandably difficult commitment to honor if you and your sweetheart decide to keep the relationship going while you are apart. Difficult but not impossible. My failure doesn't mean I won't try again but it means that I just have to work harder.
